On our way to Halifax we stop
in Truro to explore Victoria Park. A sweetheart
of a kid, working on park maintenance, gives us directions and makes sure we’re
heading off in the right direction. The winding, forested path takes us up and
down wooden staircases deep into the park to waterfall views. (It’s called a
“look-off”, not a “look-out” here in Canada.) Worth a stop and a good leg
stretch.
Masstown Market is a classy
establishment offering fresh, local produce, an amazing bakery, a café (with a waiting
line stretched across the room), and the usual gift shop. I purchase golf ball sized beets
grown in Nova Scotia and fresh rolls for dinner.
There is a separate fresh fish
market in a lighthouse shaped building that also houses an interpretive picture
and map collection featuring the Bay of Fundy. There’s even a photo booth that
lets you snap a selfie that makes it look like you’re standing on the bayshore. And a resident blue lobster named Nova. The probability of finding a blue lobster is one in two million.

We climb stairs to the top for the view of the countryside….can’t quite see the
Bay from here, but we get a good eagle eye of the Airstream.
We return to the main floor
and from the food counter we select a lobster pie, (award-winning) and lobster
mac and cheese for dinner.

My dad was from Nova Scotia so fun to read. I also love seeing your "trailer home" A lot bigger than the last. Thanks for sharing.
